About Marine Queen York

I’m Lucy and I live in York, and I love it here, but I left a piece of my heart by the sea where I grew up on the East Coast of Yorkshire. Those little triangles on my logo point to 54 degrees north, Flamborough Head, the place where my love of everything marine began.

I want to do all of the crafts, all of the time, which is why you will find so many different handmade creations on this site. From dog bandanas and baby bibs, to key chains, and plant signs, I have at least three ideas in my head at any given time. I knit, crochet and sew, and some would say I have too many printers in the house!

I also love to read which is why you may recognise patterns inspired by some of the cult books of #booktok. I even recently started the Yorkshire Book Swap on Facebook to link up fellow book lovers to shop each others shelves. I am often on my social media, Marine Queen York, talking about books, reviewing things and sharing snippets of life.

Because I clearly do not have enough to do, I am also one of the founders of Craft Cinema Club which I run with my lovely friend Carley from Unicorn Puffs & Rainbows. We have monthly screenings and you can bring your crafts along to do while you watch. Plus we run a Maker’s Market so you can shop or exhibit, or both!

I am a big fan of cups of tea, anything with a pineapple print and line dancing is my happy place. I also love to wild swim and you can find me on a Wednesday evening playing Pokémon or Lorcana card games. I use any excuse to make a spreadsheet, there is no such thing as too much glitter, and the smuttier the book the better!

I hope you enjoy my treasures!
